triple post health care tilt oh god is the play to actually long health care because it will be privatized and run even more for-profit?

Dude Amazon bought One Medical Group for like 3bil. They were a pioneer in concierge medicine. I think that's an indicator of a few things. One, Amazon needs to cut medical costs for it's own employees and two, there's a play in this space for the consumer-ization of medical services. Amazon wants a brick and mortar/virtual care hybrid.

Probably investing in private long term care homes and services was a sure fire bet until covid hit. They hire the cheapest staff often psw and below and still charge an arm and a leg to customers who can’t leave.

My wife works in the healthcare system. She says EVERYONE (from the lowest medical aide who makes $12/hr to doctors making $200k) is extremely unhappy and looking for a way out. If I had to boil down her complaints into a single theme I would say her opinion of the problem is that people completely disconnected from doing actual healthcare (human resources execs and/or other execs who have never been near an actual patient) are making too many decisions for business reasons that degrade the experience for the patient and provider.

She says they cant keep any nurses longer than a couple months (they aren't really nurses, they are medical assistants, but they call them nurses) because they cant compete with much easier blue collar jobs. Her current nurse is going to some sort of part time truck driving school and is planning on leaving to be a short haul truck driver (which is a much higher paying job) as soon as she graduates.
