whats not so great about this is that 'summer 2023' was supposed to be loki 2's release date and now thats been pushed more or less to 'whenever'.

the goss is that its because the VFX they have been churning out lately is Just Fucking Awful so they want to take more time and get it right with loki 2 but tbh im real fuckin nervous its because of the j. majors drama.

in any case, people are predicting loki 2 wont be back until 2024, which is some outright bullshit if its true.

Just started watching this last night and really enjoy it.

Also I was someone who basically gave up TV during the poker boom and never really went back to it. In Canada you can't stream FX and I don;t really pirate TV shows. so I completely missed Always Sunny despite knowing it's comedy was perfect for me. I just started watching season 1 the last month (it's on Disney plus here) and OMG can't believe there are 15 seasons for me to watch. Will have to pirate the banned episodes. soooo good.

barbie is pretty distinctive visually, but just in the trailer there is some incredibly lazy writing on major plot points. first, the deal where all of barbie's friends gasp "flat feet!" that's not what flat feet are. second, the idea that in the real world, some dude is going to just blatantly grab a handful of barbie ass in public and when barbie retaliates by punching him, she's the one who gets prosecuted. in what real world do things work like that? you literally could have made any kind of misunderstanding where naive barbie doesn't know how real life works and gets arrested because of it, so why would you make it something where real life doesn't actually work that way?

So I watched the idol last night. And well so far all reviews are completely accurate. Depp hot as hell but I really don't give a shit about any of these characters and yet to see an interesting story. I'll keep watching of course...

I haven't finished episode 2 due to diablo but i feel it's one of those shows you need to watch, not because it's good, but because of all the shit and gossip going around about it. It's a shame because it had the potential to be another eyes wide shut type of thing.

Finished second episode of the idol so you don't have to. It isn't getting any better.

Problems

Unlike euphoria none of the characters are interesting or likeable Joselyn played by Depp has potential but there is no back story no flashbacks to her life.

You have one single story line which has been played out a million times (young woman burning out from pressures of stardom).

There is too much nudity. Depp is hot but when she is basically naked every seen it just becomes meh. A

They have "x rated" sex scenes which show nothing more than tits. I get this contradicts my previous point but as shock value this can't compete with what a 13 year old boy sees online.

The Weeknd is creepy/slimy as fuck which makes the sex scenes even worse.

And most of all, unlike Euphoria this moves at a snails pace with a slow single story line. I feel season 1 of euphoria could have been 20 episodes. The first 2 episodes of this could be condensed into 20-30 mins. For reference we are already 1/3 of the way in and have yet to even see any real cult like shit. Just tells you how horrible the pacing is.

I haven't researched at all who is writing this but it's clear this is night and day from Euphoria.
