and just like that, we have a perfectly good reason for a july thread
they touch on the 3 laws of robotics and how they get kinda retroactively shoehorned into the foundation source material, which i know was a point of some contention, learning from the mistakes of season 1, so on.
I burned through the first 4 eps of Jack Ryan season 4. I think it might be my favorite start to the season. I mean don't get me wrong, it's pretty terrible in spots but I am digging it.
Will prob dl the Witcher for my long trip coming up.
i like knowing witcher is ready to be watched but im in no actual rush to watch it. i just know there will be a time when its exactly what im in the mood for and ill be glad its there.
...I didn't mind S3 of Witcher as background noise. The Righteous Gemstones is likely the only comedy show I've liked in the last 5ish years. I must have watched some other shows in the last 3 months, but they weren't memorable for good or bad.
On the list there's Foundation, maybe Silo, Justified spinoff and Bear when I get around to them.
S2 of Good Omens starts in a week or so and rest of the Witcher should be out around the same time.
For other stuff S1 of D4 starts today. Should be ok for week at least. I won in the character selection screen by picking rogue and that made the base game fun for a 100ish hours.
Watched Silo. It's one of those shows that really makes you wonder how talentless hacks like Common and Tim Robbins still pull a paycheck. Rebecca Ferguson was probably hoping that her character would die when she left the silo. Spoiler alert.
so the scary good AI behind curating those reels on facebook has realized im actually hugely gay for weird marvel lore so its trotting out all these little stories about weird corners of the marvel universe and all these alternate reality character backstories and what im realizing is that the current marvel offers really are just watered down vanilla disney bullshit.
like we clearly arent going to scrape the surface of how fucked up and dark some of those comics get, we are just going to keep on churning out thinly veiled commercials for the us army and every hundred or so hours of drek they toss us a loki bone.
Snowpiercer S4 should be out tomorrow. Weekly thing. S3 was likely still ok.
Cobra Kai S6 is running. Likely watch it at the background at some point.
Vikings: Valhalla S3 is out. I had 5ish episodes running in the background. No idea what happened. Watched the S2 not that long ago. It's ass. Sorta like the worst season of regular Vikings without a single likeable/memorable character and it had some storylines. Didn't care any of them.
From new things S1 of Decameron is out in few days. Might not suck. Book is ok. Pasolini's film I can't remember, but I'm fairly sure I've seen most of his movies. Solid information.
From older random background noise stuff I re-watched Boardwalk Empire and it was better than i remembered or the quality of TV has deteriorated. The first 3 seasons especially. The last season was whatever. I think we can just pretend it never existed and Chalky/Omar is getting his spin-off show any day now.
