i think im going to go hard at the cyberpunc expansion in the not so distant future.

I've honestly skipped a lot of the triple a titles this year. Partly cause I want to have enough time to devote to them. So it was diablo 4 and Baldurs Gate 3 for me. But a good friend of mine really liked cyberpunk. Also had lots of good to say about starfield.

I was also roped in to getting warrhammer 3 to play with friends but that's a pretty big time investment and makes me wonder why no one can make a proper sequel to heroes of might and magic 3.

this is going to sound horrible but i notice that after i started trading futures, i found video games a lot less endorphin-provoking. i was hoping diabo4 would be some sort of breakthrough event for me but it almost turned into a binary 'if you get that gear drop you win, if you dont you lose' style grind and it really felt manipulative and cynical.

a few friends have been dipping toes in WoW again and i see the appeal, now that its such an insanely massive world. it must feel really fucking cute to just wander around and merc pigs in the woods a la south park.

could be mighty therapeutic combined with a proper high cbd joint.

i get the feeling ill revisit starfield at some point. its funny tho because while i was playing it, it made me nostalgic for fallout 4.

I think I mentioned this but this is exactly like me for poker. I stopped video games basically completely from 2003-2010 when I played online poker. Now that I got back into it the last 18 months I really find it hard to play a game that is grindy when I can just grind poker instead and feel I'm getting more back. This is also why I never got into warcraft as it overlapped with my online poker.

I played WoW for about a year after attending a couple blizzcons and wanting to see what it was about. GF and I ran a character from the level 1 to 120. It was amazing experience just getting to explore the world given neither of us had ever played an MMO. But once we hit max level and completed the main storyline the grind set in. We did do a social guild for a bit and doing a couple raids was very intense.

For me I find it really hard to stick with a single game right now (that's what online poker is for me). But I can definitely immerse myself for a month or two if something is really good.

Ironically the main game I am playing right now is a roguelite city builder that looks like warcraft 3 which is really grindy but very fun and relaxing. It works cause you can play it for 5 mins or 1 hour at a time without worry of stopping.

one thing that wow did right about endgame is PVP. you can find someone to have competitive PVP matches, ranked or casual, 24/7 in that game.

oh also i think i might dust off Destiny again.

Been playing Pal World the last week. I bought into the hype and enjoying it. I haven't played many survival games and enjoy the aspect of Pal's doing a lot of the boring tasks for you on your base. Only single player so far but likely will join with friends at some point.
