    A bunch of billionaires just got hacked on Twitter

    Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Bloomberg, Joe Biden, and a score of others just posted the usual "double your money" bitcoin scam.

    I'm seeing a bunch of conspiracy theories around this, even from otherwise normal/sane people. I also see lots of people scratching their heads about running the scam on all accounts simultaneously, wondering why you wouldn't milk it for max value.

    I think people are way overthinking this. Obviously there must be some vulernability in Twitter itself that got exploited. That means it gets patched in 5 minutes, never to be taken advantage of again. It's like finding a bank vault wide open, but you only get 20 seconds to loot it. There's only so much you can do.

            yeah this doesnt sound like a very sophisticated breach, eg i doubt there were any real interesting attempts at persistence.

            like honestly when you consider the money they could have made if they thought this through.... marrrrrone.

                      trumps account was modified when an employee deleted it back in the days; it cannot be accessed through normal administrative means so it wasnt at risk.

It reminded me of all the narcos shows I have watched, where people spend all their time burying their money, yet spend zero time planning the "end game".
