  • How many times have you watched "The Big Short"

This movie contributed to the loss my innocence more than the 2 Dutch hookers on my senior trip.

for me, more than 20 times. I will forever remain a cynic.

Your count would be 3 or 4 if you had read the book.

you just can’t get too many details and Michael Lewis is god.

LOL, my dad handed me the book when I was 21, and said "there will be a test". there was.

There is a reason I brought this up.

My parents got divorced when I was 8, but have remained close, and have a working professional relationship. My mom is a high end RE broker, and my dad is a builder. They have one thing in common, and that is they both called the housing crash. My parents are complete opposites, my mom is very image driven, and chooses her cars by how good she looks in it, and my dad buys a new white pickup truck every 5 years and washes it twice a week. They are 2 very different people, both are smart, and really good at what they do, but see the world very different.

They both say that they made most of their money from 2002-2006, and that they were able to keep it because they kept their feet on the ground and read the warning signs.

They let me live my life, and don't offer too much advice, and always ask if I need anything, but they stay out of my business. That being said, I am averaging about 3 calls a week from both of them and they are very being very prying about my finances and pretty much end the call with "just be smart, and careful"

Two quotes from the last week:

Dad: "What the fed is doing makes no sense to me, and I can't see how it could possibly end well"

Mom: "Its just like 2002 all over again, every home I have closed in the last year is at least $250k overvalued"

I have 18 months left on my current employment contract, and after that I am pretty sure I am out of oil. All I know is that I am going to tread lightly for a while.
