Placed a market order for some CCL calls this morning, ToS shifted value after executing them, suddenly my account balance was literally -$2100, and I ended up catching a margin call after it retraced about +$1900.
Will be reloading but Ill probably take a week off.

Very stupid morning. Took a big position on ZM and then fucking ToS crashed; I couldnt see my contract so I couldnt close it. Rebooted and things were semi fixed but not really.. prices werent updating on my position despite ZM shifting like 1.5% in value. Finally things started to sync, was up about 11.25% on my main position, saw it reversing, and I didnt hit eject. Partially greed, partially panic, partially I was still half asleep. But yeah it whipsawed and I got shaken loose once it surged above 180 SMA.
Made 2 more very minor plays and essentially the same thing happened on first but I got out faster, and the 2nd was trading sideways so I exited down around -1.25% instead of fighting it.

couple of minor points moving foward:
1) ill be taking 3 scalps a day instead of my 1 huge motherload scalp a day, using 1/3 of my roll on each. this is a risk mitigation strat, simply put. with T+1 in play for options settlement regardless of whether or not i use my 3 permitted daily trades, there is no good argument against this. it triples the cost of my options contract fees but that's more than worth the cost of avoiding another AMZN debacle.
2) Schwab, who purchased TD, are tuning up an absolutely terrible (by all appearances) web based broker interface thats basically shaping up to look/act like E-trade, and thats nothing to be proud of. once this account hits 10k i'll be moving to Lightspeed. 10k is their minimum balance. ive requested access to their demo platform next week so expect a review shortly, but pretty much anyone even remotely serious about scalping uses them.

4 day week, super choppy.
had a few swings evaporate but got a bit unstuck with some QQQ scalps.

holding TRIP call and MRNA put overnight. the MRNA put is going bad, real bad, but im hedged slightly by the TRIP positions. again normally i dont swing trade but when the market has this much momentum, im not averse to making some very minor plays on it.

+$93 off a ZM put.
could have made more if i stayed in the trade longer but +14% is a valid profit target. plus as i type this, its already climbed from -3.15% to -2.55% so i could have gotten stomped out here fast if i tried to get slick for another 3-4%. this was a good trade.
dumped a UAL call at -$2.00 because it lost momentum. never really went beyond .5% profit and didnt look like it was going to. basically rolled the dice on this trade in case it blew up another 4-5% but it wasnt on the menu, and we are still seeing articles about middle seat drama on planes so no point in fighting the current here.

Ok first week wrap-up.
Today was green, not by much but green:
The YUMC play went great, couldnt be happier there. The ACB play just got caught in the wind and reversed on me so I hit eject. BSX was a tiny little lotto play, didnt shake out but it had potential.
Up about $20 today.
Big picture...:
4 days of trading. 3 green, 1 red. Red day was a massive, massive fuckup caused by a software configuration issue, that went extremely south extremely fast while I tried to figure out what the fuck had just happened and how I should respond. 100% my fault. Again, charge it to the game.
Looking more closely at the green days, I feel like I need to stop trying to surf the morning momentum waves. So far its not been as profitable or consistent as I need. If I wait a few hours, I can get a better read on behavior and make more informed decisions. So thats going to be my MO next week.

hit AAPL for a quick $30. ill take a small green over a big red all day.
things felt really squishy, market movement wise. i wanted to hit PGNY but it has no volume behind it, so the spreads on its options are just pure dogshit.
