Last few years there's been some decent titles like first two seasons of Westworld and Raised by Wolves. Probably something i'm forgetting. Star Trek, Star Wars and Doctor Who exists. I don't care too much about them, but they have legit fandom.
I was under the impression you had watched the entire series. From my perspective it takes most of it's influences from 2 video games. Fallout and Wasteland. If there are other popular dystopias that seem more likely it's my bad. They kinda popularized the world's gone to shit and we're back to tribalism trope.
The first season of Tribes of Europa sets the stage for that. Whatever original spin they are going to do with it is saved for season 2. Why i mentioned Fallout in my first post about this was because that world was fun and it it had it's 50s flair going for it. There was a tv nostalgia kick to it. Mad Max is scrappier. I can understand these worlds. I can see why heroes are doing whatever they are doing. Factions have clear motivations. That type of shit.

ok, season 1 in the bag.
thoughts in no order...
- watching mr sex slave teenager get psychologically tortured was actually kinda great. that said it was very, very, very obvious who he was going to fight but whatever.
- i want to speak to whoever decided it was super cool to use the final scene of the fucking season as the splash screen for the episode.
- people need to stop casting 19 year olds to play 14 year olds in general.
- i dont care about the femen at all.
- im revising my opinion to a thumbs up and im not sure if its because or despite of the budget being like $75 and a pack of parliaments.

Yea it kinda set the stage for something interesting to happen. There was the weird decision of random nudity in ep4 or something. Like they started with YAish vibe and then there was GoT type of casual nudity in the middle of the season. And all-around darker themes like foreshadowing that milf in the cum and i'll kill you scene might be the dudes actual mother, first of his tribe and whatever. I don't really remember if in the crimson tribe the old guy that gets killed is the actual father of the guy running the coup, but it's somewhat odd transition to Greek tragedy tropes.
I think the show would have gained from 10-12ep season. 6 ep's is a cheapish commitment to see if anything sticks, but it's really only enough to introduce the world and few characters. To me te world feels generic and i'm not invested in any of the character. Every character feels like a knockoff.
Still it's solid 7/10. I don't mind a second season.

I worry that in a longer season, we end up with the most absolutely dreadful filler. Like one thing I will hand this show, it gets to the point pretty fast.
Great call on the nudity btw. I also love that they grafted on some weird relationship for bruh with some random femme at his camp just o he wouldnt lose his virginity to a fucking rape because thats just too dark, even for Germany.
Now that I think about it, I kinda wonder if there was an original cut out there with a full 10+ eps to it and they just slashed and burned their way to 6.
Also if Sophia is his real mom, this is instantly better than GoT and possibly the best show on Netflix, ever.

They are hinting that Sophia is his real mom and that's a really dark angle. It's possible the season was cut because of budget strains. I just hoped they would get to flesh out characters more.
As is the Atlantic searching duo arc felt like it was ripped of from Star Wars.

been looking into that... apparently his moms name was chloe and crows never lie so we can assume sophia is in fact her real name. also kiano was 13 when chloe vanished, is it possible that she went from slave to crow lord in like 5'ish years? thats a tough sell.
also she seems to have one pair of shoes total and although thats not exactly relevant to this topic i want it on the record.

Yea you're probably correct about that. The timeline doesn't match if she's truthful about her initiation when she was 5 years old. There does seem to be some connection since she knew things about a fairly isolated small tribe including Chloe being his mother and there was some mention about reaction to Kiano's father dying. I fast-forwarded a lot so my recollection has sizable holes.
