Saw that yesterday and tried to do a sell bet, but wasn’t able to open one. For all the talk about shorting, it’s sure hard for retail traders to short dogs, here in the uk at least. Same thing happened with a Uk Cbd stick with a bearish case against, could only go long. (No thanks) Weird times.

Regardless of a DOJ investigation, operating an MA plan at a loss is a huge red flag. The CMS literally pays a premium for plans to admin Medicare benefits. It's like 130% or something stupid. I know a lot of people who are multi millionaires in the MA game - it's really hard to lose money.
The relationship with an owned subsidiary broker is pretty concerning although I don't think that is unique in the industry. I believe UHG's Optum arm sells MA plans and I am sure there are many others.
The questions I would have are
- Is Seek receiving a larger than average commission for selling Clover plans?
- Is Seek offering referral bonuses to provider groups that are not approved by CMS or fall outside of the usual and customary marketing practices?
- Is Clover then contracting with their provider network at a loss to curry favor with their providers in order to gain referrals to the health plan just to grow membership?
Without going crazy, the plan may be purposefully attempting to circumvent the medical loss ratios that have been established for plan spend on member care/medical expenses. That money funnels to their subsidiary. Are the Seek financials including in Clover earnings?
