basically based on price action / history i think the following is likely:

    1) it will either climb more than $7

    2) or it will _at least_ dip slightly in value

    3) it will probably not move up without surpassing that $7 figure

so if i take $600'ish and allocate it as follows:

...if we cash above $93.5 in 30 days, that $600 is worth $2380.

....if we cash below $87.5 in 30 days, we cash out around $750 total.

    fact:

this modified condor would have been profitable every single month since june:

gonna have to wait and see what sort of contract prices are in the mix on monday morning and obviously AMD can surge before market open and then and ill have to re-evaluate but you get the idea hopefully.

there is btw a rather ferocious x factor here which is the market starting to feel like its flagging slightly. its like the mania is wearing off. so at least id say there is a real 30% chance that AMD does exactly fuckall and moves between 50c and $7 more or less, in which case both legs of this expire worthless and im blued screwed and tattooed.

i think the prices on these contracts were out of wack.

i just noticed that the long leg here is actually showing up as a net credit, not net debit. i think those two call spread values are probably fucked.

theres another concern here btw; the price has to close above 93.50 on march 5 or the payout is zero, obviously, but if it hits that strike price before march 5, the payout is not nearly enough.

i reran it using a 94/94.5 spread to demonstrate and got this:

Click image for larger version Name:	Screen Shot 2021-02-06 at 5.16.49 AM.png Views:	0 Size:	162.7 KB ID:	3429

those numbers are % of original investment as return. so if i invested $100, and closed the contract on march 4th when the stock is valued at 94.50, i would get back $168.80, or $68.80 / 68.8% profit. but if it _expires_ at 94.50 the next day, it pays out $313, or the original $100 plus $212 (212%) profit.

to demonstrate how fucked the contract numbers are in the original example, this would pay out about 30% less than the 93/93.50 strike price calculations..

so if nothing else take this as an object lesson in the dangers of using after-market contract data when calculating options plays i guess.

feeling cute, might fuck around and skip that hedge short leg, idk..

TSMC auto chips .... that’s the other chip shortage story.

QCOMM next auto cycle + communications.

these are fundamental plays so now is not the time

so lets be frank, shall we?

you disgust me trying to game earnings. There is a time and a place for everything, I think you have now recognized that it’s not working for whatever reason.
