    Narcos really does have some explaining to do.

    Rewatching from s01 ep01 and it really does take some weird ass liberties with the truth/timeline.

    When they kill the DEA guys cat, they go on this whole tangent about Kiki Camerena and how theres probably a contract out on the DEA guy and how no one will touch it because of what happened after Kiki died.

    That whole scene takes place in like '81/'82 ostensibly because Pablo hadnt won his seat in Congress yet, which took place in '82.

    Thing is, Kiki was murdered in '85.

    Also regarding the gloating voiceover announcing Carlos Lehder would die in prison... he went free in June of 2020.

      And got asylum in germany because he had dual citizenship, also bounty hunters apprehendet 2 suspects in kiki´s murder who transported them to the US from mexico, who the hell is crazy enough to kidnap 2 guys from Guadalajara where the cartels have free reign and spy´s working for them lurk at every corner

    on another note i really wonder how many off all those big cartel top people are in some or another way are informants or playing both sides, i mean Gregory Scarpa aka the grim reaper was a informant to the FBI for 30 years while allegedly playing both sides like whitey bulger did.

      iirc scarpa got a hall pass from the feds for solving the 'mississippi burning' situation. that he did so by allegedly torturing/raping klansmen until someone told him where the bodies were hidden is worth mentioning for posterity's sake.

        which is to say his situation was kinda unique.

        but yeah if you told me most of the high level people who arent cozy on some level with the feds are ether in jail or have nothing to offer, id say ok yeah that makes sense honestly.
