Steam room controls are tricky as fuck. Is there really a little mechanical closet that supports the steam? Permitting that would be fun. Maintaining it - even funner.

1. The colour and design of those tiles suggest its old maybe from the 80/90 period
2. in the 3. pic from above where you see the whirlpool you see the white filter grates on the right side of the bathtub are dirty which looks like from prolonged use
maybe this was a rental and one of the tenants rekt the whirlpool, not cheap to replace, and instead walled the whole thing off?
do you need a permit to repurpose a bathroom to some other kind of living area?
