I mention this today because Ferris Buehler and the Dodgers are finishing their set in the weightless atmosphere of Coors Field in Denver against the lowly (tanking) Rockies. This is the rubber game as Dodgers are 1-1. It should be noted that Kershaw (loss) was pitching the first game so the Dodger loss can be ignored for our purposes.

The last time I bet this large the pesky Senators upset the Montreal Canadiens. Canadiens were a huge favorite that time too. I lost, of course. We knew less about how bad the Canadiens were back then. The coach was fired a few weeks later. I remember every detail of that evening. The look of the pool of vomit on the floor. Zack Greinke hurled six scoreless innings on Thursday in a win over the Athletics.


Clayton Kershaw took the loss in his Opening Day outing against the Rockies on Thursday after allowing six runs (five earned) in 5 2/3 innings.


Greinke, is the better athlete by several orders of magnitude. He is a physical freak. When he was in high school he was a shortstop. Zack wasn’t a starting pitcher until his senior year. Yet he was drafted out of high school in the first round. Easy game. High school umpires had meetings about his behavior on the mound. Grienke would change his delivery almost every pitch. One pitch Luis Tiant, for instance... facing center field before releasing. He was slide stepping like Kershaw does today as well. He was just fooling around but it was felt he was embarrassing the opposing batters. It was all too easy.

Ohtani pitching 100.6 and hitting a homer Sunday. The talk of baseball. Zack was described by a Royals minor league coach as the “best pitching prospect he ever saw”.When Greinke was called up to the Royals Greinke begged to be sent back down to single A to become a shortstop. He wanted to play every day. We were denied two way Grienke.

Grienke was drafted years earlier than Kershaw by the dreadful Royals. Grienke has adapted and will have a longer career the Kershaw who is simply growing old.

The fail Dodgers had Greinke and prime Kershaw together 2013-2015 and did zip, They also didn’t think bullpens were important. Real progressive thinking. They lost - squandering a historic tandem.

The Oakland A’s are just dreadful. So were,the Rockies and Kershaw lost. It’s a big ask for the A’s to beat the Dodger offense. The overnight sharps are hatin on Kershaw though. That’s my job. I think fading Kershaw 1st 5 might have value but that derivative isn’t offered yet. The A’s bullpen is already exhausted. A’s relief is gonna get slaughtered.

Definitely we examine totals. I bought some over 8 just to get my feet wet. Run in 1st inning prop is gonna be a pick worth maxing out on.

Padres & Yankees just complete mismatches. We will figure out a way to bet them without being retardation. (Dodgers -160 isn’t wrong at the moment)
