    It’s interesting stuff. this place is 5 miles from where I live and does lots of research on fusion. Has the worlds largest tokamak.

        as borne out by the timescales in which COVID vaccines were developed, the combination of accelerating computing power and political will can massively truncate timescales previously thought to be required for transformational innovations. It would be unsurprising to see significant deployment by 2035.

        the double edged sword here would be the gold rush mentality exploiting all relevant breakthroughs to get to market first, counter balanced by the equally feverish rush to use those same breakthroughs to create extinction level weapons.
