          Random mention about China a while ago was that wealth and power go together there. The power part isn't transferable. Same reason why some wealthy individuals stay in Russia.

          Factions, falling out of favor and random things are what get billionaires killed there. As a random guess, about half the ones that died thought they were good and the other half thought they could weather the storm.

          It's a choice being royalty in China or a wealthy merchant somewhere else.
