fun story i recently purchased an online quant / alg trading course and got into it with their support team because i felt they were deliberately glossing over methods for ingesting tick streams in favor of endless examples of batch processing (nightly, hourly etc) and finally after i shit you not 4 days of going back and forth they caved and just outright admitted they dont support high frequency trading and i honestly didnt really have a come back to that, like i hadnt considered that what i wanted to do was essentially poor mans HFT but it totally is.

Update on SS where his project is going?

Also did you end up brushing up on statistics with online courses? At the time i think i only observed, as mildly related, MoMa giving out free courses and i assumed quite a few other institutions doing the same in their relative areas. Running theme might have been mostly sort of glossing over vast amounts of information. Say if you had any familiarity with the subject you mostly be looking at 60h of stuff where an hour was the one you were looking for.

Not to say that x amount of hours of mildly related things can't give you ideas about the thing you were interested in. Just how people are and how "free" information was. I don't honestly know where free information is. It has had it's share of "steps" in the last 15 years. I don't know where the last one took it.

If it's needed, i don't really hold grudges over trivialities. I think we only clashed over the KT x Split feud. My view of it was the same as BCRs. It was nothing in the context of past forum feuds. KT wasn't holding any punches and Splits reply wasn't out of bounds. And i too preferred KT over Split as a poster. She was far more entertaining and she livened up the forum. It was just a matter of principles. Not to say time on the forums doesn't count for nothing but after that we don't really play favorites.

If you want to share some hot takes about how much doxxing of other people is acceptable to you, threatening their families and jobs, etc... Then we can start this conversation with you disclosing your full name and the city you live in. Otherwise kindly shut the fuck up.

Oh kay. That was strange. Is there a story where this is coming from?

I don't go out of my way to doxx myself, but i haven't bothered to cover my tracks too much. Part of being involved in these forums is to protect yourself. Don't make it too easy for petty lowlives to collect ammunition and find weak points. Something tells me you might know that already.

There are people that know where i live. There's just nothing to gain for me to make it public.
