Gazprom phone operators are standing by.

        nordstream 2

last time I looked it really seemed to be a transportation issue. these things generally never have just one cause though. Shrug

          Something something Brexit.

Slightly more complicated, but it's the thing that makes everything worse in UK.

Flexibility related to workforce is mostly gone now. There are mildly retarded barriers in place. Fairly sure people voted for those barriers. This is like the least severe end of the spectrum at play here.

my first thought when i started reading about the incumbent fuel drama in the uk was 'something something brexit'

Yea there's supply side shocks everywhere in Europe. Most of the Europe on the other hand are not traditionally net exporters of petroleum.

Generally the price of gas is up in most places. There are no empty gas stations in most places. Very few countries are involving the army to take care of supply chain issues.

More or less everything is a about transport. Getting the right stuff to the right place.

UK in their brilliance made a barrier for "unskilled" workers to work in UK from other countries. I guess the idea was to employ chavs or whatever.

So a few months back Romania had 50k extra HGV drivers and UK was missing 50-100k and currently there was no good way to move those drivers to UK. Fairly sure Germany/Poland just fixed their issues with those freely moving EU workers.

Apparently it's not all of UK that's fucked though. Northern Ireland is just fine. Wonder why. Obv no worries UK is working hard to fuck them over in the next few months.

sitting right now in the EU and there are no gas shortages or panic buying from bulgaria to germany to spain except the UK which is in denial like a gaslit abused spouse about what a piece of shit his/her boyfriend is, altough because of covid there are supply chain issues which are mostly affecting big industry players like car makers and producers of special machinery and electronics
