  • November TV things....

    Gomarrah S5.

    Narcos:Mexico S3

    Dexter S9

    The Wheel of Time S1

I'm guessing in the order i expect anything from them.

Last season of Gomorrah. Random reboot of a show that didn't completely suck. Show that can be whatever. And then there's a Narcos spinoff.

the gomorrah trailer looks fucking psychotic but im kinda bummed that immortal and gino are apparently to some extent at war with each other... still and all holy shit.

also honorable mention t minus 60 days until house of dragons goes live.

        Locke and Key season two
Joe Hill for those that don't know is Stephen King's son and a pretty good writer. The show is based on his graphic novel. If you haven't seen season one it's worth a watch. I'm only in two episodes season two and it's picking up.

listen dont get me wrong i really do love this show but narcos plays so fast and loose with historical fact that its actually kind of offensive.

like the truth is actually more incredible in some cases than what they end up filming and thats such a lost opportunity.

Yea the few good hours were ok, but they really outdid themselves with viewpoints/perspectives that were complete filler material. I don't even think that they necessarily had to be that.

You could have made good TV with corruption/press angle and how it related to cartels. The beginning of American Latino street gangs and prison gangs ties to cartels. The different levels of corruption from politicians, military and police. How racketeering played to this etc. There was so much good material to choose from and for the most part they wasted all of it.

like one example of shit that just fucking killed me this season:

                      - the war between chapo and tj starts because benjamin wont sell them a piece of the border and offers to rent them access, which sinaloa finds insulting.

in real life: the war started because a sinaloa affil showed up at benjamin's birthday party who had quite fucking literally straight up kidnapped a female friend of the family and ramon quite fucking literally walked up behind him in the middle of the fucking club and blew his brains out. that was the excuse chapo wanted to go ham on tj. please explain to me how their bullshit was an improvement on this.

also excuse me what happened to the north valley threat to kill pancho, whom they already showed dying in jail the previous season?

oh also for a whole fucking season about 'lord of the skies' they somehow managed to never once actually put into perspective the amount of money he made. its like they were afraid to cast him in an impressive light.

god damnit i really hated this season.

like we went from cali threatening his life to pancho sheepishly confessing everyone works for him and we never once were really shown what caused that inflection or how much weight he was moving or anything else that could have like, you know, done justice to his legend.

oh no instead of that we get what, 20 minutes of a cop sitting sitting in his car staring at a bus stop?

like carillo had $10,000,000,000 (TEN BILLION DOLLARS) in funds frozen in his bank accounts. at what point in this season was it clear he was worth ten fucking billion dollars AT LEAST.

Really no idea what happened here with the show. Also there's no season 4. There's a six ep Griselda Blanco show slated for 2022. Maybe they don't butcher it.

                            lol wait so https://www.digitalspy.com/tv/ustv/a...lled-season-4/

                            so lets trot out some facts;

                            - their location scouter got murdered by cartels before this season could start filming

                            - there is literally no mention of the CIA this season for the first time in the history of the series

                            - there are a ton of weird plot gaps and odd accents on totally irrelevant plot lines shoe-horned in for no obvious reason

ok im going to just say it. i think they decided they couldnt mention any of the current players in the narco sphere without getting killed.

the explanation in that article is completely nonsensical; 'we are up to date basically' is their excuse and they absolutely 100% are not up to date. not by a god damned site.

mexico today is _nothing_ like the mexico we end the series with.

like this is going to sound dramatic but my heart is breaking a little that this is the note we went out on with this series. we waited so fucking long and this is how they do us.

                            down bad rn.

American Me does sound plausible, because they would take the wrong liberties with truth and/or what rumors should be filmed.
