Last season kind of sucked. For whatever reason they decided to move away from Holden (who did nothing the whole season) and focus on Naomi and it just didn’t work IMO. Also seemed like last season was very short in action. Hopefully they finish up strong.

i agree. but its got lovely effects and im pot committed and elements of it are quite good. also, weirdly, the show has become a bit of a cultural event so.. heres to its last season.

Second season on Witcher might have been best for me out the December things. There's around eleven caveats to watching it though. Say if you don't know the world already, the first season really sucks at helping you out with that. I'd say your best bet would be to watch the 15 min recap of season 1 and then just watch season 2. Then you can try watching season 1.

        Gomorrah was still enjoyable.

The wheel of time keeps trucking. Things happen. Don't care about any of them.

The expanse isn't really boring, but very little is happening and i don't understand how they can waste so much time with 4 episodes left for the show.

For random things, i've enjoyed The Kings Affection. It's fairly melodramatic, quite gay and very S-Korean. If you haven't seen Arthdal Chronicles, maybe ease yourself into S-Korean fantasy things with that. It's not as melodramatic, only mildly gay and moderately S-Korean. The comedy doesn't translate for me at all and they have telenovelaesque way with drama.

i think i might try to save gomorrah until all or at least almost all the eps are out. probably wont make it that long because there isnt a lot else to keep me busy.

witcher was enjoyable but honestly i feel like i understand about 85% of whats going on and the effort to somehow piece together the other 15 by re-watching season 1 and/or paying attention suffers from diminishing returns. that said there were surprisingly few moments where i was like 'what am i actually doing watching this, am i actually retarded?' and thats nice. slick effects too.

sunny is holding up its weight. didnt really see that coming.

expanse.. it feels like this last season is almost a PR stunt. like 'lets just fund a few more eps so the fans dont go fucking insane at us and be done with it'. probably money well spent if so.

ill peep kings affection. if its well done, that alone is better than nothing.

If you still haven't watched Black Sails, that's an actually good show. Kings Affection is more of a guilty pleasure and/or weakish tv for months making everything decent seem better.

Still watching Wheel of Time because the wife wants to, but I am pretty much over it. The unrelenting, absurd left wing politics that have been injected into the show are just too much, and detract from whatever enjoyment I might have had over the retelling (with a lot of liberties as far as changing the story) of a childhood favorite story. We have definitely veered hard into wokeastrophe territory IMO.

Watched the first couple episodes of Arcane. Is mildly enjoyable, although the story seems real generic so far as far as it being a story that has been told 100 times before (orphaned street urchins on a quest to make the world care about them, etc. etc. etc.)

Will start the Witcher soon. I admit I dont remember very much from Season 1 though, so I dont know how much that will detract from the enjoyment.

My wife is completely over the Expanse, so I will watch the last 6 episodes on my own at some point, but not in any big hurry. Probably will have to wait until football season is over.

It's possibly a benefit, if you don't remember season 1.

Finished The Witcher. Thought it was pretty solid. Disappointed it was only 8 episodes and now have to wait 1+ years for more episodes.

Saw the trailer for the Prequel with the middle age Asian woman protagonist. Not really sure what is going on there.

We are rewatching Season 1 of the Witcher. We are actually enjoying it much more and following it better the second time around. Also, Season 1 is so much better than Season 2 IMO. Much less politically correct (in a good way) and they put way more effort into the effects and choreographed battle scenes. Overall just a much better product.

I think years from now people are going to look back and remark how current times (2019-present) were a very low point for art and entertainment quality in general, due to the moral panic of our times.

The problems with S1 were at worldbuilding, introducing characters, motivations for almost anything and that type of stuff. S2 deviated further from the books/games, but it wasn't hard to follow. At this point it's a very loose adaptation. I don't really care about that. You just need to get some things right. Author of the books has so far enjoyed the series.

Oh and i don't doubt that s1 is better second time around. I'd never say it's even comparable to Expanse, but to a degree it had similar problems with s1.

For the most part GoT got everything right with issues that Witcher was struggling with in it's first season. Wheel of Time is whatever. Apparently been familiar with that world didn't help with the show.

honestly the fact that the show is called witcher and that the actual witcher is at best third fiddle for an entire season is not something that should be easily forgiven / overlooked.
