Tine or anyone else you still watching Silo? Think I’m thru 3-4 episodes and it’s been okay; trying to decide if it’s worth continuing.

Probably will regardless now that there’s not much else on right now and since it’s the slowest time of year for sports too but inquiring minds and all.

Also I only made it thru 3-4 episodes of Ted Lasso season 3 as well as it turned to aids and maybe I’ll come back to that at some point but it’s been so bad.

Need to watch the newest Dave season too. Guess there’s plenty to watch after all.

Finished second episode of the idol so you don't have to. It isn't getting any better.

Problems

Unlike euphoria none of the characters are interesting or likeable Joselyn played by Depp has potential but there is no back story no flashbacks to her life.

You have one single story line which has been played out a million times (young woman burning out from pressures of stardom).

There is too much nudity. Depp is hot but when she is basically naked every seen it just becomes meh. A

They have "x rated" sex scenes which show nothing more than tits. I get this contradicts my previous point but as shock value this can't compete with what a 13 year old boy sees online.

The Weeknd is creepy/slimy as fuck which makes the sex scenes even worse.

And most of all, unlike Euphoria this moves at a snails pace with a slow single story line. I feel season 1 of euphoria could have been 20 episodes. The first 2 episodes of this could be condensed into 20-30 mins. For reference we are already 1/3 of the way in and have yet to even see any real cult like shit. Just tells you how horrible the pacing is.

I haven't researched at all who is writing this but it's clear this is night and day from Euphoria.

It comes off as a very expensive vanity project. That's somewhat odd since no one comes off as likeable. I'm sure Weeknd gets more screen time in this version, but how bad could the earlier version been, when this is the "fixed" version.

My guess is that Levinson does his best work when he can just connect the dots. First season of Euphoria had a functioning outline for a script. That's the type of structure that lets Levinson BS his way out with a solid end product. Ensemble format that to a degree forces fast pacing. Also liked his cinematographer, but this time he didn't have too much to work with.

I don't know if Levinson doesn't play well with others or is too easily influenced. Maybe it's some weird combination of both. Sometimes revising the script on the fly works out, but it's nearly always a hassle for the crew.

The backstory before Levinson took all the seats for himself was that the show was 80% done with shooting. The previous director/writer/babysitter was handed a half finished script that she turned into something coherent. And then they scrapped all of it. A lot of random shiny stuff was added as a distraction. It looks good at times. I'm sure there's some dialogue I haven't fast forwarded.

i heard that originally there was a female lead and the show was really 100% about her depraved journey and she basically dipped a toe in the script and said yeah this is a fucking career killer, im out. at that point weekend approached levinson before he could recast and literally said OK BUT WHAT IF IT WAS ALL ABOUT *MY* PERSPECTIVE INSTEAD?! and levinson for absolutely no good reason said fuck it sure why not...

...and here we are. again i havent watched it yet but that was the hot goss about a year'ish ago.

tour de france: unchained on netflix is pretty good. it's about last year's tour and in the vein of that formula one show. it's probably better for casual fans who don't know or can't remember what happened last year, but it still looks good and is a collection of compelling stories even if you already know how they're going to end. if you watch it, make sure you aren't getting the dubbed version. the original is about half french with good subtitles.

Was confused myself. I read an article 2 days ago that they only were five episodes I assumed this was an error. I was going to stop after episode 3 but gf said she wanted to see how episode 4 turned out. It's all pretty bad and not in a good way. The Weeknd is so horrible and has the charisma of a pedophile. What is wrong with the show seems to increase exponentially to where I've stopped commenting. I will see it through as supposedly there is a "big twist" which I imagine will just be a murder...
