watched Adolescence last night and its pretty much 100% as devastating as described. on the plus side, the whole thing feels like a david mamet production due to the reliance on long, patient shots. on the negative side, they sacrifice a lot of nimble storytelling by being overly reliant on those long single takes and it feels gimmicky.
eps 1 and 3 are money, ep 2 feels a bit obligatory, and ep 4 is technically superb with stephen graham demonstrating real mastery of the craft but ultimately struck me as failing utterly to match the intensity of ep3. like hard to fault it but it is what it is.
