  • Legalized Hockey Wagering

Simpdog please sponsor my Canadien citizenship if sports wagering is legalized in my state.

This juice is state sponsored crime.

It’s as if the Montana Gaming Commission is recruiting SEC employees. “Light regulation” still cracks me up.

    legalized books & big data.

Real time AI is minutes away too. I really cannot understand why AI isn’t being used now.

The Golden Age of online wagering is close to expiration.

Sanlmar stocks is much much worse big hedge funds manipulating the press or outright buying press time and constructing a narrative to manipulate stock prices into directions they want,
even jim kramer admitted to this while he was running a Hedge fund and how illegal it was, so all in all gambling sites try to rope back your dead and rotting carcass while hedge funds rigg everything in a way you think its legit but the poker cards are marked and if you win they while shake you down and beat you half to death.

Full faith & confidence lulz. Where enforcement serves as an industry kindergarten.

This line of thought just reminded me of Nadex-like offshore (rake free/tax free) binary betting. Forgot all about that niche. Talk about watching the close get run up or down for Max Pain.

More last minute empty net goals than hockey.

          simp2 (I like new toys)

Michael Hutchinson in goal for Toronto - not Campbell. No Sonatine, Hutchinson wasn’t the lead singer for INXS but he did let in some cupcakes vs the pesky Senators. We taking the +127 Oilers and it’s falling fast on the goalie news.

sorry Simp. Hit me up when you’re ready to play again. I miss copying your homework for extra income. GA Monday and your seat was empty again.

          eh?

I know you’re raking large stealing from Americans Simp, but more is more. your secretary says you are always on the phone so I’ll post this here. Totals related stuff is half unit. Couple 1P’s for old times sake.

don’t get used to this generosity - you work for me. also if things don’t go as planned Dr Martingale is on call til midnight

swear me in.... I had to google a tad to recollect the term “binary options”. It’s been a while and much has happened. I’m losing a little off my fast ball too.

Binaries imbue the gambler (aka the options/futures trader) with a healthy feel for the close - which is to say the concept that THERE IS ANOTHER SIDE. you must hold til close with binaries so you must come to jesus with full game wagering - no scalping

            razzle dazzle

reminds me of the time Sonatine had to pick up a hundred hogs at the yard and then buy that farm upstate cause he forgot what the date was that day. Holding til expiration like he does all his deli meats.

I used to hang out in the South Point sports book back in the day (pre Covid) I posted on the other site the day I saw a glass booth and Brent Musberger doing live streaming on this new sports wagering forum. I recall posting some pictures.

Fast forward 4 years and the Musbergers today sold VSIN for $100 million to newly pubic DraftKings. In fact, it was DK’s first acquisition with Onestep’s money. Fucking nice score. Golf clap. Musberger and his brother nailed the timing of the sports wagering revolution to perfection. I hope he gives the early employees a taste or at least a reserved parking space.

I loved owner operated SouthPoint (made their own lines - fuck William Hill) and the little independent & non affiliated sports wagering media outlet that was VSIN. Enjoyed VSIN immensley. Now they will be, by economic necessity, whores. The books will control all sports media and (college) teams to some extent. It’s a sad day.

The Golden Age of sports wagering is ending. Thank god for stonks. The kids were early adopters. Appreciate you. Elizabeth Warren has an eye for young boys though so enjoy it whilst it lasts son.

anyhoo... any offers from RH Sonatine? I want a parking space with a charging station.

FTR I was 6-6. I just missed the +280 Sabres. 3-0 going into the 3rd period. (I hedged). Lost 4-3 Lol.

Covid rested Montreal vs late night overtime & late night traveling Oilers?

All over Hurricanes in chalky (Gonzaga & tennis) parlays

I like your totals ideas. Tough card.

The difference between posting sports picks and stonk picks is that I might bail 30 minutes after a stonk pick. Sports your bet runs to completion. I’m a scalper swing trader. I have no courage. Besides, someone is giving near free money for use til 30 years out. Can’t turn that down. So who has stonk money now anyway.

sign of the times. We use sheets of plywood to protect the tennis court surface from equipment like lifts and moving heavy stuff with carts. Someone stole our plywood overnight. It’s like copper and aluminum theft now.

Wow. I remember you mentioning that Musberger South Point anecdote way back when. Also remember you mentioning VSIN as you were an early adopter. My brother got me into listening early on. He even bought us official both VSIN shirts sort of as a joke.

First time I listened to VSIN I immediately heard a voice I recognized. It was Mitch Moss who I use to listen to on the local ESPN radio station when I lived in Vegas. It’s kind of a strange feeling when you hear a familiar voice from times past on the radio. Needless to say I was all-in; especially on “Follow the Money”.

For a while it replaced whatever I was listening to on my morning commute. But the novelty wore off for me pretty quickly. I lived and breathed the DFS and fantasy football content that first year and by year 2 I couldn’t stand to listen to it.

Fast forward several years and can’t remember the last time I listened to VSIN. But there was a time in my life where it was my life. Happy to hear the success story.

And by the way if this is the new sports betting thread I’m in.

If there is dialogue then I’m down. Simp2 is my jungle guide but he’s been very busy with life - so I’ve been trying to lure him back into the game - thus this thread.

Sheesfaced I listened almost exclusively to “A Numbers Game with Gil Alexander”. 10am-noon. I agree the early morning show Follow the Money became lazy familiar formulaic schtick between the two hosts.

I signed up in 2017 for a monthly subscription right there on the steps to the broadcasting booth. At that time the VSIN app was the only way to get the programming. In later years NESN (Boston) & YES (New York) broadcast Mitch Moss and the morning show and perhaps more. I occasionally wondered what I was being charged for these days but I was loyal and satisfied. VSIN was on the frontier of sports betting programming and I picked up a lot I wouldn’t have otherwise.

my sports twitter roster is almost entirely guests from the shows.

I will never use DraftKings. I’m especially not a fantasy player either. I’ll probably never bet online using any legalized sportsbook. Dime lines are apparently illegal. Look at the OP above. That and it’s all taxable.... not that you could ever beat that juice.

I love the discovery and learning curve. Every one bets sports but there is art and science too if you want to go down the rabbit hole. I ended up betting hockey. It’s a niche like small college basketball. Sports analytics has arrived on ice - last of all the major sports. I’m wasting time learning the metrics. Corsi, expected goals and all that rot. It’s been profitable and it’s a fast exciting game to watch. I’m conversant in goaltenders like others would be with pitchers. It’s been a strange trip.

Hockey in-game wagering algorithms are not that strong either. I don’t think it’s worth the time for the in-game betting service providers to spend time on it given what I imagine is a fairly low nightly handle.

I hate losing more than I like winning and if my state gets legal wagering and blocks offshore I’ll move on and find something else.

                  ramble

$100 million for an internet radio site and a roster of perhaps 12 hosts.... and a mailing list.... DK will be running my credit report tomorrow.

what’s ironic is South Point & now Circa hosts VSIN on their property.... and they are the only books on the strip that originate lines. They are gonna 86 Draft Kings/VSIN.

Philly is a pretty bad team too. Philly games have been overs .... the game leaves me feeling skeevy

I’ll add these for consideration as well though:
Colorado Avalanche team total over 3½ -125

                      Minnesota Wild -105 Regulation

Can you help me with the number of overtime games this year vs last? Regulation more dangerous than usual or am I butt hurt?

Toronto Jack Campbell vs Oilers Hellebuyck is so intriguing. I want Toronto and the recency of Hellebuyck standing on his head give Toronto value. Both goalies are confirmed. But I like money so maybe we skip.

                      Speaking of things Minny

985 Minnesota Twins (Maeda) -110 for 1st 5 Innings vs Brewers Judy Woodruff tomorrow

6 minutes into the game Av’s have 4 goals and they made the starting goalie head for the locker room in tears. Seriously, he’s out of the game in humiliation.

The Av’s just scored again (now 5) on the replacement goalie as I type.

The Av’s are a rare example of dominance, The Gonzaga of hockey atm. Maybe the Dodgers to come. Good stuff.

simpdog racks 2-1 for the night.
