Anyone see Musk stream diablo 4? He's actually pretty damn good. Apparently it's his main recreational activity. He plays in eternal realm.

really interesting thoughts from game devs who thought they were doing this nostalgia thing for d2 players by gating some items behind tens of thousands of hours of game play, only to find out that their loyal fanbase now had families and jobs competing for those same hours.
anyway, next expansion drops october 8th:

also apparently raids and a new character class are in the mix.

Far as i understood most of the chase items were target farmable in D2. In D4 the first iteration was roll 820 ilvl, roll unique and then from that pool roll an uber unique that obv has a lower drop chance than other uniques. That resulted in a few shakos out of literal billions of drops.
Basically you didn't hit the powerball because of lack of trying by Activision logic. Oh and in D4 target farming was roughly worth few extra tickets. There was a way to target specific item types, but the increase in weight was barely noticeable and max ilvl gear drop chance was either binary or very close to it.
But yea they mostly fixed all that. Treating their player base as complete idiots is still rude though. D4 was released in a scuffed incomplete state with tons of busywork to waste everyones time.

so to anyone considering taking a swing at this season, i leveled from 1 to 100 in about 2 days, and you can basically count on an average of one new level every 6 minutes doing these funky little Hellbreach dungeons all the way to 100. basically if you level up 2 chars and kill lilith on each, you have the ingredients to make a mythical unique of your choice. now idea what thats going to be worth when the new season drops in a month but fuck it, we ball.

so ive been playing a bit of PoE 2 and honestly i havent found anyone who doesnt consider it light years better than diablo 4. its just a full on richer, more fleshed out, much larger game. i might feel differently when i hit end game or otherwise hit a wall but so far im honestly shocked at how good it is.
oh and its like $30 because its pre-release and apparently when it goes live its going to be essentially free with microtransactions or something?
