fact: id rather spend my money on an EV with 600+ miles per charge than a EV that costs half as much that gets 300+ miles per charge. and they all do self driving at this point, for all intents. i really dont care about 4 way stop signs and shit, i do care a great deal about my car driving for 8 hours without me being involved as we tool along an interstate, lazily dragging on my blunt and listening to the audio book for Hyperion Cantos. yeah.. i fuck with that all day.

      • also punch line the mercedes eqxx has the one feature that made cybertruck interesting; a solar roof. and unlike cybertruck a) its standard and b) it will almost certainly exist.

          • if youre not short tesla right now i dont know what to tell you.

macro, the markets about to shed 30% just to get back to fucking normal.

elons cars have _half_ the range of the next gen lux vehicles that are being driven the fuck around right now.

he's spewing about how hes going to produce 20m cars a year? read the above link. seriously just read it.

no one wants to buy a fucking car that may or may not arrive in an infuriating state that can take months to unfuck and even end up costing you more money.

oh and tsla dipped under 1k for the first time in a minute today

            • if you own a tesla on the east coast you are fucked. the batteries get 30% less range, the software wont even tell you exactly how much you have left accurately, we dont have enough chargers out here to begin with, and then theres shit like this:

mark my words. someones going to end up landing a huge judgement and its going to cascade quickly into tesla shutting down operations and bricking about a million cars.

I have a friend who has an electric car (not tesla). Basically half of it was paid for by the Ontario government 4 years ago through subsidies. But in Canada you are correct absolutely about the poor battery life. God forbid if you actually have a long commute to work. Because of shit like that so many people are hesitant to buy even with the current oil crisis.

yeah this is why i honestly consider the EV market a huge bubble right now, with the exception of lucid and possibly mercedes who appear to be bringing 600m+ range to market. and even lucid is hard to get entirely behind because honestly, their cars arent real sexy. sorry lucid. and we havent even really started to talk about the IoT risks of electric cars, and how vulnerable they are to network disruptions.

                    • honestly everyone loves to joke but this is going to snowball into them declaring chapter 11 and bricking a million plus cars overnight.

and no ones getting their money back.
