You can also likely sell an unopened pack to somebody for over $2k.

So the rare pack drop today at noon EST will cost $99. But the EV of a pack is... $2614. So yes, you will definitely want to buy one if you're lucky enough to get a low queue number.

Yeah so the line opened like 10 minutes before the drop. Your spot gets randomized, like Onestep joined the queue after me but was able to buy a pack. I was 22k in line so I didn't get one. If you join the queue after the drop then you go to the end of the line.
Onestep ran good in getting a pack, but ran bad in opening them. Those cards are worth ~$90 total. Still not bad for $9 investment, but you can sell unopened packs for several hundred.
My other friend also got a pack and pulled a Kawhi Leonoard worth ~$300 and two lesser cards worth $25 and $50.
