tesla is literally spamming me with the once in a lifetime opportunity to buy a 2021 model y demo model for a whopping $1990 off sticker price.
like there have been over a thousand miles of strangers assholes pressed up against the white leather seats but somehow im going to be like oh wow id definitely take that for $70,000 over a literally virgin car for $71,990.
i guess the real upsell here is that a demo model wont fall apart the second i turn the ignition but still. #fuckouttahere

It’s totally a dotcomming thing. They are all toasters. Tesla was first but there is no barrier to entry and again it’s toasters except charging & batteries for a while.
NIO has a very appealing idea. Spin off the whole battery enterprise. The battery manufacturers can handle that whole market end to end. Preserve value of car. Lotta interesting ideas. Swap station is kinda a more expensive model than super charging station but...
i keep thinking Cisco being first with routers then Juniper came along but that comparison doesn’t work really .... I have completely fucked up electric cars cause I kept applying fundamentals and that’s not what this is about.

like to me, NIO represents the dot comming of the auto industry. and to an extent, tesla kicked down that door, but NIO is just the first of many potential rug pulls a la NKLA etc to squeeze through with questionable game plans.
