Keep in mind Wali was no longer in the canadian forces when he went to ukraine.
Also the story always reeked of BS to me. not that he isn't a legitimate sniper but that he was the best in the world. He's also been using this to promote the sale of his book. You can find his real name if you know where to look and he wasn;t that careful hiding it until recently.
So many of these snipers are psychopaths'/narciccists.

my only real thought/opinion here is that in international competitions, the canadians are the team to beat. like they really are astoundingly good. but when you get into body counts and literal war stories about distance shots, im inclined to just nod politely and say ok cool. but you gotta wonder if he was in UA when that russian got popped at 1600 meters....

obviously the trick is to look beyond the posturing and face saving and suss out the shifts in sentiment behind them. those are generally a far more accurate compass for whats coming next.

Also for anyone questioning Putin's fitness imaging living a life like this for decades where people treat you like a literal 2 year old and like you can do no wrong. His recent life is the definition of participation medal.

Russia military reputation been destroyed. Apparently they don’t have dedicated communications and they are literally using cell phones to issue orders. It also sounds like they have major gaps in mid level sergeants. Lack of sergeants may also be why we are seeing so many generals killed in battle.Comment

apologies if im repeating myself but whenever i hear ukraine going off about how 'the west / nato' are failing them, it feels scripted and basically something being done to sweeten the pot so RU can withdraw and say 'well we have exposed how weak and useless NATO is, mission accomplished', despite the majority of arms being used to obliterate their military being NATO sourced.
like every time UA is like 'give us no fly zones and send in nato hardware to enforce them' im like yeah thats basically a psyop because no one and i mean no one wants nato fingers pulling nato triggers to send live hot rounds into russian flesh. because the second that shit starts, russias going to be like 'ok cool lets vaporize berlin and see who really wants to take this to the next level'.Comment

todays the deadline for russia to return leased planes. if they dont, they are either going to have to manufacture parts for them or get them on the black market.
and no matter what they do, its unclear who would ever lease them planes again at anything other than exotic rates.Comment

couple of other tidbits... 1) wagner group is now being moved into place, 1000 fighters + senior leaders. and 2) russians are confiscating cell phones from UA citizens, UA citizens are reporting the thefts, UA security are monitoring the stolen cell phones and are picking up absolute gems naturally.Comment
